The CEO of institutional trading platform Bakkt, Kelly Loeffler, has unveiled Tom Noonan as the new chairman of their organisation’s board, alongside more board announcements. Noonan cut his teeth as a cybersecurity expert and was the founder of big-name cyber companies, IBM, JouleX and Endgame. Association with any of these companies alone would be impressive, so to be a triple threat in this respect, makes him a shoo-in for this new position at Bakkt. Who, now that they are well established, are focusing on a new direction which will set them up for a long time, as per the post from Loefller. Much of these are focused on providing more peace of mind for their users. As per a post on the website Medium from Loeffler, she explained, they are now focused on improving, “security, infrastructure and regulatory clarity are cornerstones for building trust”. Naturally, a new direction requires significant work from all involved, with the board having a major role in this new focus. Loeffler and Noonan’s new board will be joined by numerous other big hitters in the online security and financial world, which comprise an all-star team supporting the day to day operations. The board will consist of Jeff Sprecher, the Founder, Chairman and CEO of ICE and Chairman of the NYSE; Akshay Naheta, Managing Partner at Softbank; and Sean Collins, Managing Partner at Goldfinch Partners. In the progress report, Loeffler further outlined her plans for the future of Bakkt. Which alongside the improvement in security and welfare, are also focused on providing more transparency and closer relationships with regulators. All in all, the post was optimistic about the potential for long-term growth. You can read the full report here.
