Trezor Outline 9 Helpful Anti-Phishing Tips

The crypto wallet, Trezor has outlined some tips for users that can help them avoid becoming the victim of a Phishing Scam.

If there is one thing traders are likely bored of hearing, it is to ensure that you need to be taking necessary precautions when trading online.

However, it can not be overstated and with a number of exchange platforms being hacked and other scams happening to even experienced users on a regular basis online, you can not be too careful.

One of the most frequently occurring security risks online is Phishing Scams which is where fake websites impersonating wallets, exchanges, or other services, asks unaware users to enter their recovery seed. This then forfeits your security channels and anyone can do what they wish with your cryptocurrencies- with most cases being that accounts are cleared out by the perpetrator.

Although these are particularly a danger to newbies, one slip of concentration and even the most experienced trader could see themselves a victim of these simple, yet effective scams. This is why Trezor has listed 9 tips to help prevent this from happening.

They are as follows:

  1. Look for confirmation on the screen, especially when it involves transactions or your recovery seed. There’s a reason we call it a Trusted Display.
  2. Ensure Url is exactly
  3. Bookmark the to avoid misspelling it in the address bar of your browser and avoid search exchange
  4. Never give your recovery seed to anyone, and be especially careful with everyone who’s asking for it, including Trezor Support as they would never ask you.
  5. Carefully observe the website addresses and ensure there are no misspellings or odd characters.
  6. Be wary if the HTTPS certificate symbol, which looks like this – ?, is missing.
  7. Make use of updated security software and other similar product.
  8. Avoid clicking third-party URL links such as on emails or social media channels- pay particular attention to short links.
  9. Be vigilant and do research before trusting third party services

Of course, many of these may seem like common sense, but you are still better safe than sorry and should also double-check everything when online. Be careful out there!

One thing that you can trust this weekend though is that it is now is the best time to invest in Trezor products with their special 35% off Black Friday deal available all weekend, make sure you don’t miss out on that. Head over to their platform to avoid doing so!
