On the 25th of May 2021, Dubai will once again play host to the much-anticipated Draper-Aladdin AIBC Startup Pitch. 100 companies operating in the exciting fields of AI, Blockchain, Quantum Tech, FinTech, Big Data and IoT will be showcasing their ideas to investors and other stakeholders. Up to $500,000 can be won by any single enterprise, although smaller prizes, starting at $30,000, are also on offer. This impressive prize pool can help entrepreneurs turn their concepts into MVPs or even grow their business from a local operation to a global corporation. Prize money will be channelled through one of two instruments. The Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE), will provide investors with the rights to gain future equity in the company. The Continuous Agreement for Future Equity (CAFE) instrument will require the companies to feature on Fairmint, allowing investors to be the first buyers. Bill, Tim, and Polly Draper, together with a surprise guest judge, will be judging the winner of the top prize. During the “Meet the Drapers” competition, six startups will be pitching their ideas in the hope of bagging half a million dollars in investment.
