Kevin Beardsley, the former managing director at the over the counter firm, B2C2 has confirmed he will be heading up the futures operations offered at Kraken. This is the latest advancement in the new project from Kraken, which was birthed upon their acquisition of Crypto Facilities at the end of June. The London firm was the jump-off point for the project which was then furthered by a gathering of $13 million through a fundraising round hosted by the San Francisco-based exchange at the start of this month. Beardsley, also hailing from the UK, will take over the operation which currently has a trading volume of $2.5 billion already and help to progress it to the next stage. Commenting on his new position, he explained, “being a pretty wide range of different types of participants, I have a pretty good understanding of what people are looking for and how to meet those needs.” He will have his work cut out at Kraken as Bitcoin Futures projects are very much the flavour of the month at the moment. Several other firms, such as Binance and Bakkt, have outlined plans to launch their own version of the product imminently.
