Italy has created a team of 30 financial, business, academic, law and technology experts to lead the national blockchain strategy according to an announcement from the government. The Ministry of Economic Development has issued a list of 30 experts on Thursday that contains people across different areas to build the strategy for blockchain in regulation, business development and research. The list of consigliere includes Angiolini Giorgio, member of UNINFO’s blockchain and technology for the logistics of distribución group; Pimpinella Martino Maurizio, president of the la APSP, Italian Association of payment services; Monaco Marco, Leader of Competence Centre for Blockchain of PriceWaterhouseCooper Italy, and DLT Security and Cryptocurrencies of PWC global. "They will elaborate the national strategy on artificial intelligence and the national strategy on technologies based on distributed ledger technologies and blockchains," the press release says. Minister Luigi Di Maio commented that "the numerous and qualified events of interest received in the selection of expert groups demonstrate the wealth of knowledge and experience that we have in Italy on emerging technologies." Di Maio continues, "I thank all those who have expressed their availability and I am sure that together with the selected experts we will be able to build Strategies that are crucial for the development of our country in the name of innovation ". This action comes in the framework of the European Mediterranean countries for Blockchain joint declaration signed earlier in December by six southern European Union states.
