The Federal Bureau of Investigation in the US, better known as the FBI, are calling for users of the now-defunct QuadrigaCX to come forward to provide information about their experiences. It has been a while since the name QuadrigaCX has popped up, having previously been a hot topic for months for all the wrong reason. If you remember, the Canadian exchanges' issues began at the start of this year, when their owner died with all their user's passwords. Leaving them unable to access their accounts. The case was taken over by accounting firm EY, who discovered some very dubious going-on behind closed doors, and massive debts. It didn't take long for the only solution to be produced. Bankruptcy. Now, the FBI are involved. Users who suffered financial losses have been requested to fill out a questionnaire about their experiences after the company was forced into the closure. According to the statement “Based on the responses provided, you may be contacted by the FBI and asked to provide additional information.” The questionnaire focuses on “questions or concerns” about “victims” QuadrigaCX account. It asks them their personal details and whether they have access to the exchange’s hot wallets or old transactions IDS. It is unclear why they have requested this information from their users but it is not hard to figure out that there is something to do with the massive debts the company are in. With the FBI now looking for some form of explanation about how this was allowed to happen. However, it is just another chapter in the QuadrigaCX saga and yet another concern for their former users to be faced with.
