Ethfinex Trustless, which is owned by popular exchange platform Bitfinex, has now launched over the counter services. The OTC is on-chain but has no centralised order book or matching engine and financial instruments are restricted from the platform. While the service has already launched, the service remains limited to just Ethereum transactions at the moment. As per the press release announcing the news, “Customers can trade any ERC20 token, and even specify custom Ethereum addresses for tokens which are not currently listed on any exchanges.” The OTC transaction is an atomic swap, removing the need for an escrow. The new project promises to allow more people than ever to get involved in OTC thanks to the smaller fees it provides. They claim that their OTC service charge is just 0.02% significantly cheaper than some other OTC desks that can charge as much as 5% per transaction. Sounds like an exciting service!
